Alumni Invite

The annual day after Christmas Alumni Invite, held this year at the Parker pool, was another huge success. Over 25 alumni from the Craig and Parker swim programs competed in the meet. Craig school record holder Brad Briney dominated the the 50 and 100 Freestyle events, while the Davis brother dual was also entertaining to watch. Thanks to all the alumni for coming and making this another great meet!

Elkhorn Invite

The Cougar swimmers suffered a heartbreaking loss at the highly competitive Elk Invite. The team did everything it needed to do to win, but a disqualification of another team's 400 Free Relay gave the win to Beloit Memorial. The Cougars still tied for second and had a number of top finishes. Jimmy Loftus finished 3rd in the 200 Free and 4th in the 400 Free. Peter Loftus finished 5th in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 Back. Troy Thornton had a 2nd place finish in the 100 Fly. Travis Condon picked up a 6th place finish in the 400 Free. This invite was the team's only meet in a meter pool for the season.

Parker Relays

Competing in it's second relay meet of the season, the Cougars drove over to their cross-town rival to compete in the Parker Relays. The team finished a respectable 4th out of 8 teams. Competing against Big Eight swimming powers Madison West and Middleton, medalist honors (top 3) were hard to come by. But the Cougars did manage to finish third in three separate events. The top relays were: the 200 Free Relay (Martin, P. Loftus, Thornton, J. Loftus); the 500 Crescendo Relay (Martin, Thornton, T. Condon, J. Loftus); and the 400 Free Relay (Martin, T. Condon, Thornton, J. Loftus).

Cougar Relays

It was another close finish at Craig's signature swim meet, the Cougar Relays. Craig and Elkhorn battled fiercely the entire meet, the score remaining only a few points apart the whole time. In the end, Elkhorn distanced itself slightly and edged the Cougars 174-166 for the title. Impressively, Craig won 5 of the 12 events contested. Firsts came in the 850 Distance Crescendo (Martin, P. Loftus, T. Condon, J. Loftus), the 200 Free (Campbell, Reese, Tollefsrud, Davis), 200 Free Class (Bradley, Richardson, Tollefsrud, Davis), the 400 Free (Martin, T. Condon, Thornton, J. Loftus). The Cougars capped off the meet with a win in the always fun 400 "Rocket" Relay. The winning team consisted of Boutelle, Tollefsrud, Davis, P. Loftus, T. Condon, Thornton, Martin and J. Loftus.
